This year Minsk was named one of the best Destinations for 2019 and we are here to help you discover it. 30 June will see the end of the 2019 European Games that took place in the Belarussian Capital, with record number of visitors flocking to the city. With the new Visa free rule and restored Old Town with hipster coffee shops and cocktail bars, Minsk will for sure surprise you as one of the next undiscovered gems of Eastern Europe.
Embark on the short break to the Belarussian Capital, stay in a unique hotel, converted from a monastery and join the fantastic all day tour of the Castles of Mir and Nesvizh, the most valuable monuments of Belarus listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Welcome to Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Your driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the 3* Monastyrski Hotel (or similar). This charming hotel within a converted monastery is right in the middle of Minsk’s Old Town, and retains all the Gothic features of its spiritual past. With elaborate iron chandeliers casting shadows along corridors, you will not find a more atmospheric and unusual place to stay. No need to devote your evening to a solitary contemplation though; you can test out the hotel sauna and bar-hop the lively Old Town. Overnight in the Hotel. No meals.
Enjoy an early breakfast as your full day tour will start at 9am. The meeting point for the group is the Minsk City Hall, Svabody Square – just 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The majestic Mir Castle was built in the XVI century. Its bright architectural look, mighty walls and towers, colourful courtyard will for sure leave a lasting impression. Enjoy Lunch at the restaurant. After lunch, drive to Nesvizh - the former capital of the Radziwill's Ordination. See the Market place, Town Hall, shopping arcades and artisan houses. Admire the Park and Palace Complex of the XVI-XVIII centuries designed by the Italian architect Giovanni Maria Bernardoni. During the visit of the Palace Museum, you will see the impressive expositions, grand halls and living and housekeeping areas. The knowledgeable guide will tell you about the history of the most powerful family of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth - the Radziwill Family which influenced the cultural heritage of Belarus and Europe. Back to Minsk by 8pm. Overnight in hotel. Meal included: Breakfast, Lunch.
After an eventful Saturday, you will have a whole day at leisure to do and see as you please. Have a stroll along Independence Avenue, the city’s main thoroughfare; see history from a different perspective at the Belarusian Great Patriotic War Museum. Pop in to the Cat Museum and Cat Café for your monthly doze of cat cuddles and enjoy a cup of delicious cat-coffee; you can even play Cat-Checkers, Cat-Chess and meet the Museum Director, Donut the Cat! You can visit the All Saints Church, the most beautiful Orthodox church in Minsk and a memorial to innocent victims of war. Make sure to have your camera on; Minsk is full of Soviet era architecture that will absolutely amaze you. Pop in to one of the many restaurants in the city for a feast of Belarussian cuisine. Overnight in hotel. Meal included: Breakfast.
Make sure to wake up early for the last few hours in Belarus Capital. Transfer to the airport for flight home. Meal included: Breakfast.
