Day 1, Moscow
Begin your thrilling journey in Russia’s cosmopolitan capital, Moscow. Transfer to the Cosmos Hotel (or similar) and relax with an evening meal. Meals included: dinner.
Day 2, Moscow
Broaden your horizons with an introductory city tour of Moscow’s most famous sights including a visit to the mighty Red Square - the most recognasible place in Russia. During the walking tour, you will have the time to take pictures of this 73,000 square meters brick-paved square surrounded by the Kremlin Walls, Lenin’s Tomb, St Basil’s Cathedral, Resurrection gate, GUM superstore and the Russian State Historical Museum. Another place to visit today is the Novodevichy Convent, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, build in 1524 to celebrate taking of Smolensk from Lithuania. In the afternoon – free time to explore bustling yet charming Russia's Capital. Meals included: breakfast.
Day 3, Departure from Moscow
Today after breakfast at the hotel you will embarque on a tour to the Kremlin with a visit of a Cathedral and the Armoury. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Moscow Kremlin boasts magnificent gold-domed cathedrals, the gigantic Tsar Cannon and Tsar Bell, the Grand Kremlin Palace and many other historic buildings. Visit one of the cathedrals to admire frescoes and icons created by old masters. Visit the Armoury Chamber, home to a rich collection of gold and silver articles, precious stones, and tsar’s crowns and other regalia. After the tour, transfer to railway station. Your Trans-Mongolian adventure begins with the departure for Irkutsk by train #70 at 13:50. (B)
Day 4-6, On train
These days are spent relaxing aboard the train, enjoying the unique Trans-Siberian experience.
Day 7, Irkutsk - Listvyanka
Arrival at Irkutsk at 11:31 local time. Meeting with guide at railway station. Lunch. City tour of Irkutsk, a cultural capital of Eastern Siberia. The city has more than 80 cultural and art institutions, including theaters, museums, libraries, art centers, and concert and exhibition halls. The city also has about 685 historical and cultural monuments, 108 of them are on the federal list of historical preservation. Transfer to Listvyanka settlement with stop in Taltsy village, visit to open air Ethnographic museum. Accommodation at “Legend of Baikal” hotel in Listvyanka. Dinner at hotel.
Day 8, Listvyanka - Irkutsk
After breakfast join our tour to Listvianka and Baikal museum. Listvianka is the closest lakeside village to Irkutsk and the most popular place to see a beautiful Baikal. The deepest lake as well as the largest freshwater lake in the world - Baikal never felt to impress it's visitors. Later in the afternoon transfer to Irkutsk. Check in at the 4* hotel. Meals included: breakfast.
Day 9, Irkutsk - On Train
Breakfast. 07:00 Transfer to railway station. Departure for Ulan-Bator by train #308 at 08.08
Day 10, Ulan Bator
Stay in Mongolia: Welcome to Mongolia! Early morning arrival to Ulan-Baatar (at 06:50 a.m.). After breakfast a bus brings you to Terelj National Park, east of Ulan Bator. Here you get to see the nomadic herdsmen’s exotic settlements of tradition tents, horse herds, and scraggly yaks, a type of wild Tibetan cattle. Enjoy a picnic lunch served in these splendid surroundings, before heading for short hiking tour nearby.
Overnight in a yurta (nomad’s conical hut). Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 11, Ulan Bator
After breakfast bus transfer to Ulan Bator. Get to know the city with an informative sightseeing tour; visit the Gandan Monastery, National History Museum, Bogd Khan Winter Palace, Zaisan Hill,Sukhabaator square. After lunch, check in at hotel “Bayangol” (4* hotel), overnight at the hotel. Meals included: breakfast, lunch.
Day 12, Ulan Bator
In the morning transfer to railway station. Departure for Beijing by train 4 at 07:30. Meals included: breakfast.
Day 13-14, Beijing
After crossing many time zones and fascinating landscapes, you finally arrive in Beijing (on Friday) at 14:30. Transfer to 4* "Howard Johnston Paragon" to unpack and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. On next day (Day 14) transfer to the airport, flight home.
