Moscow
Moscow

A truly iconic, global city, Moscow is the 860 year-old capital of Russia. There are dozens of reasons to come. Being one of the most breathtaking capitals in the world, Moscow has a wide range of cultural landmarks. We suggest exploring them all.

Moscow Kremlin
Moscow Kremlin

Discover the treasures that lie in wait for you behind the walls of Moscow’s most famous landmark: the almighty Kremlin! Home to a myriad of the city’s most exquisite cathedrals and monuments, as well as the official residence of President Putin himself, the Kremlin remains a political landmark in Russia and is visited by thousands of tourists every year.

Sergiev Posad
Sergiev Posad

Sergiev Posad, home to one of the most beautiful monasteries in Russia, is the historical and spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church.

St Petersburg
St Petersburg

St Petersburg is a former Russian capital and a stunning city, crowded with splendid palaces, impressive historical monuments, wide boulevards, beautiful bridges and is renowned as the Ballet Capital of the World.

Peter & Paul Fortress
Peter & Paul Fortress

The first structure to be built in St. Petersburg, and thus the birthplace of the city, it never served its intended defensive function. Instead it has had a rich, hugely varied, and sometimes sinister history as a military base, a home of government departments, the burial ground of the Russian Imperial family, the site of groundbreaking scientific experiments, and a forbidding jail that held some of Russia's most prominent political prisoners.

Peterhof
Peterhof

Known as the “Russian Versailles”, Peterhof Palace and Park is a must see at any time of the year. Famous for its myriad of fountains, the grounds of the palace become a haven for tourists in the peak summer months. Look out for the ‘Joke Fountains’ – if you step on the wrong paving stone, you will get wet! If you’re not travelling in the summer, never fear; the parks foliage is beautiful in the autumn and the grounds transform into a striking crystallised wonderland during winter months so there’s never a wrong time to visit.

Time for lunch (lunch is not included). OPTIONAL: Lunch in a local restaurant. Next on your list is the visit to the Summer Palace of Peter the Great. The Summer Palace, one of the oldest buildings in St Petersburg, was built on a small plot of land between the Neva and Fontanka Rivers, on the site of the former estate of a Swedish citizen, Major Connau. Peter I lived in this house only from May to October. Because the palace is called the Summer Palace, it has rather thin walls. There are 14 rooms, two kitchens and two corridors. The palace became the summer residence of the emperor: Peter I rested here every summer from 1714 until his death in 1725. You can go inside and find out how Peter I lived.

IN CASE THE SUMMER PALCASE IS CLOSED DUE TO HUMIDITY AND RAIN, THE VISTIT TO KUSTKAMERA WILL BE ORGANIZED INSTEAD.

OPTIONAL: visit to the Winter Palace of Peter the Great. The Winter Palace of Peter I is a unique architectural and memorial monument dating back to the first quarter of the 18th century. The official residence of Peter I was located on the territory that the Hermitage Theater now occupies. There is now a memorial exhibition dedicated to Peter the Great and his era, located in the preserved part of the palace. The rooms of Peter I — the Cabinet, the Dining Room, and the Turnar — recreate a setting that includes genuine objects that belonged to the emperor. The so-called “Wax person” is exhibited here - the posthumous sculptural portrait of Peter I.

DAY 6, ST PETERSBURG

Today you will visit Kronstadt and get a chance to see the St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral. This small city is the most remote and unusual of the suburbs of St. Petersburg. The tour introduces the fortified city of Kronstadt, with its history full of exploits and brutal tragedies associated with the Russian Navy, revolutionary and military events. The historic center of Kronstadt is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit the Naval Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker - the largest of the marine churches of the Russian Empire! The main shrine of the Russian fleet The Naval Cathedral rises above the island and the sea and, after restoration, once again bears its unique mission - to serve as the Cathedral of the Sea Glory of Russia, collect naval relics, and preserve the memory of heroic sailors. About a thousand names of naval officers who died in naval battles from 1695 to 1918 are printed on commemorative plaques inside the Cathedral. Return to the hotel.

You will see the Great Chambers, where magnificent receptions and festivities were held. You will also visit the Great Hall, where Peter I held assemblies at the beginning of the 18th century, celebrated military victories and significant events. The lobby deserves special attention. DAY 7, ST PETERSBURG

st pete peterhof

Today you will tour the Peterhof and visit the Grand Palace and the park. Peterhof is a complex of palace and park ensembles in the suburbs of St Petersburg, created by Peter I as a suburban residence. Thinking of building an architectural structure, in its beauty not inferior to the French Versailles, Peter hardly imagined that Peterhof would be so striking in its scale and luxury. Today it includes several integrated palace and park areas, on the territory of which there are mansions, museums, sculptures and pavilions. The main pride of Peterhof - magnificent fountains, the number of which reaches 150 (fountains work during the summer season only). You will visit the Grand Peterhof Palace and take a walk along the Upper and Lower Park of Peterhof. Return to hotel.

OPTIONAL: visit to the Museum-model «Peter’s Water Area».

The museum Petrovskaya Aquatorium in St Petersburg is a mock-up theater dedicated to the time of Peter the Great. This project is dedicated to St Petersburg of the XVIII century. The model is a reconstruction of the most significant sights of the city and the suburbs associated with the city’s maritime history, on a scale of 1:87. This is the scenery in which the picture of the life of the city of the times of the great Russian emperors from Peter the Great to Catherine the Great unfolds. During the visit, you will touch on the history of the city on the Neva, because the layout lives its own life.
