Kazan City Break ( KC4 )

Dubbed the third capital of Russia, Kazan is fast becoming a ‘must see’ on the culture lovers to do list. Draped in rich history, the city is over 1000 years old and is constantly transforming with many sporting venues being built to accommodate the FIFA World Cup in 2018, among other upcoming events. Visit the Old Tartar Village and Sviyazhsk Island with its fairy tale buildings and extraordinary story. Other top sights on this eye opening tour are the distinctive Kremlin, portraying a peaceful fusion of cultures with a Mosque and an Orthodox Cathedral side by side within its gleaming white walls; and Bauman Street, a great pedestrian area where you can pick up souvenirs, have a coffee or just relax and soak up the atmosphere.

Situated on the River Volga, Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan famous for its rich tapestry of history and culture. One of its highlights is the Kremlin Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within the walls of this ancient citadel is a stunning mosque and onion-domed cathedral.
Day 1

Fly from Moscow to Kazan to begin your adventure. Upon arrival, enjoy breakfast in a local cafe before being introduced to Kazan on a city tour by bus. Take in the delightful architecture and enjoy the guide’s stories of the Kremlin- a place where you are bound to take many memorable photographs! An evening of free time allows you to further discover what the city has to offer. (B, L)

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel you are transferred to Sviyazhsk Island, the cultural gem of the Republic of Tatarstan. View the unique historical monuments on the island including the fascinating Cathedral of the Holy Virgin, one of the oldest wooden churches in Russia. Following lunch in a city cafe, enjoy an evening of free time in Kazan. (B, L)

Day 3

Today visit the Raifa Monastery which is located in a beautiful wooded area on the banks of a lake. The monastery is one of the most visited places in Tatarstan and is home to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Enjoy lunch in a city cafe before an evening of leisure in Kazan. (B, L)

Day 4

Bid farewell to the Capital of Tatarstan as you are transferred to the airport for your flight back to Moscow. (B)
